It need hardly be said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a valiant soldier in the Struggle for Freedom. Cast in granite mould he was one of the most remarkable sons of India. His epic contribution in the country's consolidation is unparalleled. Even today, after his departure fifty-eight years ago, whenever our country faces some daunting problem, we invariably remember him and say something like "Sardar, thou should'st be living at this hour." Let us here recall what Dr Rajendra Prasad, First President of India, has said of him: "That there is today an India to think and talk about is very largely due to Sardar Patel's statesmanship and firm administration."
Charutar Vidya Mandal has decided to establish a centre as a tribute to the great man. Work for inception of the centre which aims at delving into the life of the warm hearted Iron Man and his stellar contribution to our country is on the anvil.
