Sardar Gunj Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd. (Anand) English-Medium College of Commerce and Management (S G M English Medium College of Commerce and Management), popularly known as SEMCOM, was established in the year 1997 with the vision to impart quality education to the students who desire to graduate in commerce, management and IT.

As we know, the most strenuous chore for students after their Class XII is to settle on the direction of their higher studies and more significantly opt for the college in which to pursue their studies. It is very important to pick and choose a college, which can promote all-round development of the students' personality. Education at SEMCOM is an attempt in such direction.

Apart from other excellent achievements to its credit, another feather added to its cap is that the college became the first management institute in the state of Gujarat to get certified ISO 9001:2000 standards.

The college aims to generate wellrounded individuals capable of thinking independently, creatively and objectively. At the same time it aims to mould its students into excellent human beings. It lets their young minds blossom. It has broadened its educational process to promote development of leadership qualities to instill an international perspective and to improve communication skills.SEMCOM has collaborations with foreign universities-Georgia Southwestern University, Myers University, Cleveland, Ohio and Malaspina University, Vancouver.

1.Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA Hons) IT
Management

The four-year programme offers dual specialization in Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial

Management & International Business. This program me also offers practical exposure in terms of industrial visits and training as a part of course curriculum. In addition, the focus is on enhancing presentation skills and other managerial skills. Successful graduates go for professional programmes like Masters of E-Business, MBA, etc.

2.Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA General)

The three-year programme offers specialization in Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Computers and Exports Management etc. This programme also offers practical exposure in terms of industrial visits and training as a part of course curriculum.

3.Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)

The 3-year programme offers highly specialized knowledge pertaining to Information Technology,SoftwareEngineering, Systems Analysis and Design. The programme has tremendous laboratory inputs which enable the students to obtain expertise in the areas of Software Development and Networking, etc.

4. Bachelor of Commerce
(B Com)

The three-year programme offers two specializations - Accountancy and Management.

In order to make the programme relevant, courses pertaining to Computer Technologies are also offered. This programme enables the students to pursue their higher studies in Chartered Accountancy, Masters of E-Business, MBA and other such professional programmes.

5. Master of E-Business

The two-year postgraduate degree programme affiliated to Sardar Patel University attempts to cover all the relevant aspects of academics and business in a highly pragmatic manner. It is the continuous endeavour of the faculty to provide right insight to the students in the areas of E-Commerce and Management since organisations focus on developing IT - driven business strategies.

The focus of the E-business programme is on sharpening the students' managerial skills with a new perspective and helping them in integrated personality development. The programme aims at creating the right skills keeping in mind the changing business scenario, thereby meeting the changing needs of Business and Industry. The programme integrates Management and E-Commerce. Classroom learning is enriched by various case studies, management games, seminar presentations, group discussions, interaction with practicing managers and e-commerce professionals.

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed Bachelor's degree in any stream under 10+2+3 or an examination recognized as an equivalent thereto with at least 45% of marks at the first attempt or with at least 50% of marks at the second attempt is eligible for admission.

SEMCOM cyberlaw Clinic is a nonprofit academic Legal Service Provider in the area of Internet-based transactions. The Clinic is the first-ever initiative in the Asia-Pacific region and probably in the world where cyber legal education is made available to the society by the students of E-business and Information Technology Management.
